The Summer School 2018

Summer school in Optics And Photonics

The Summer school in Optics And Photonics is organized by Applied Photonics Initiative, Indian institute of Science. This summer school is for graduate students, research scholars, post docs and faculty members currently pursuing research or planning to pursue research in the area of optics and photonics. The school will bring together the experts in the field from India and abroad and provide a platform for interaction and networking.

Lectures

Lectures in the summer school will cover topics in Non-linear Optics, Quantum Optics, Nanophotonics, Optical Communications and Networks. (16 Hours of lectures)

Lab Visits

Participants will have the opportunity to visit Nanofabrication and Characterization facilities at the Centre for Nano Science and Engineering.

Industry Interaction and Demos

Concepts of Optical communications, Networks and Integrated Optic Device Modelling will be explained through hardware and software demonstrations by engineers from industry.

New in SOAP 2018

Student Poster session: SOAP 2018 will provide a platform for interested participants to showcase their research work, where a team of experts will evaluate and provide feedback. Best posters will be rewarded.

Poster is not mandatory to attend the summer school.

Open invited talks: This session will be open for photonics experts from academia and industry to deliver lightning talks on their area of specialisation. Interested experts are welcome to contact Dr.Gopal Hegde: gopalkrishna[at]iisc.ac.in
